Bots Dish Out Damage at National Competition
BIG KAISER’s President & CEO, Chris Kaiser, showed his support at the national competition of the National Robotics League (NRL) last month. Altogether 58 teams from seven states came together at California University of PA for the annual event. Ultimately the Bedford High School team dominated to take the honor of 2019 NRL Grand Champions.

According to the NRL, the national competition is where student teams use their creativity and engineering skills to create “… the ultimate robot that dishes out the most damage while being able to withstand destruction.” By designing and building their own remote-controlled Bots for competition, students put science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills to the test.

As a member of the Workforce Development Team of NTMA, Chris was assigned to review the engineering documentation and Bot designs and interview the kids. The NTMA Technology Team confirmed the winners. “It was a great and educational event for all involved, and another chance for us to promote manufacturing careers to young people,” Chris said. Find out how you can get support the future of manufacturing by becoming a mentor, volunteer or starting a local Bot-building team at www.GoNRL.org.
